Purpose of the role

The Fleet Procurement Manager is responsible for purchasing, financing and managing the fleet of the fastest growing European low-cost airline, with a target to reach 500 aircraft during the coming years. Key responsibilities include identifying, negotiating and contracting the most efficient and best-priced aircraft, engine and aircraft component deals for Wizz Air, through which the position has large influence on the airline’s long-term success and financials. Responsibilities also include fleet financing, aircraft specification and managing relationship with a diverse portfolio of aircraft suppliers, leasing companies and financiers. 


Responsibilities

  • Tendering, negotiating and purchasing aircraft, engines and major aircraft components for the airline group; 
  • Lead or participate in aircraft and engine financing tenders to identify best-priced and most effective financing solutions; manage related contracting projects; 
  • Manage relationship with a portfolio of aircraft suppliers, OEMs, aircraft lessors and banks; identify and deliver savings and new agreements; 
  • Ensure that the airline fulfils its obligations under the existing aircraft, engine and financing agreements; 
  • Participate in the delivery process of new aircraft and engines and support redelivery projects by lease expiries; 
  • Conduct financial analysis and evaluation related to selection tenders and contracting projects; 
  • Coordinate process improvement projects, contract development initiatives and innovations in the Fleet acquisition domain; 
  • Maintain relationship with key, innovative stakeholders in the aviation business; 
  • Attend supplier events to explore new efficient solutions, business opportunities and products with the aim to improve efficiency and foster the business; 
  • Support the financial planning and budgeting process in internal systems 
  • Actively cooperate with Corporate Finance developing the most efficient long-term financing methods and solutions for the company. 


Experience

3-5+ years overall working experience, with 2+ years’ experience in the field of either strategic procurement, business development, consulting or other relevant field is a plus
